The Herndon Sting played its last game in its illustrious history on 5/27/12 in the Adidas Potomac Tournament finishing with a stellar 3-1 record and competing as champions until the very end. 

The STING formed in Summer 2002 as an HYS U9 travel soccer team and accumulated outstanding accomplishments in the team's history as of the final season in U19 High School Div 1.   

Thank you to all of the many girls and families that have been part of the Sting over these last 10 years.   The character, sportsmanship and teamwork the girls have demonstrated are second to none.    All of the current Sting seniors will be heading to college next year at UVA, Virginia Tech, George Mason, Auburn, Arkansas, Carnegie Melon, Drexel, Princeton, UNC-Charlotte, Radford, Mary Washington, Penn State, University of New England, Randolph Macon and James Madison.     In addition, 14 current and former Sting members will be continuing to play soccer for their college teams and we have one playing basketball at the University of New England.
