Herndon STING - U14 Girls Travel Team

The Herndon STING is a U14 girls travel soccer team representing Herndon Youth Soccer (HYS), and playing in Division 3 of the Washington Area Girls Soccer (WAGS) League. We are coached by Mark Roe, trained by Dr. Bill Bragg, and managed by Lesley Aschenbach. Our players and their families live in the town of Herndon, and counties of Fairfax and Loudoun.

The STING formed in Summer 2002 as an HYS U9 travel soccer team. We have a very long (and growing) list of accomplishments in our team's history.

News and Events

GREAT JOB to the STING for placing second in Division 3 after league play was completed.  The girls finished with a strong 19-9 goal differential in a tough, hard fought division and did so despite having a lion's share of injuries and no more than one sub at most games.

The STING has completed its tryouts for the Fall 2008 season.  Thank you to all of the exceptional girls that tried out.  If you are still having trouble finding a team, please contact Coach Roe at markdroe@yahoo.com

BIG CONGRATS - Congratulations to the STING for winning the U14G White Division of the 13th Annual PWSI Icebreaker Soccer Tournament.

MORE CONGRATS - Congratulations to Jackie and Jennifer for making the Super Y League's Majestics team, and to Shannon for being selected for state ODP!  Way to go girls!
